Reykjavík is a modern city with the Icelandic spirit deeply embedded in it. Hafnarfjorður is a delightful place with a Viking-themed restaurant and several golf courses. The Golden Circle is home to Thingvellir, the site of the old Icelandic parliament; Gullfoss, the country’s most famous waterfall, and Geysir, a popular hot spring is also worth a visit.  

More than manmade structures, Iceland is famous for its outstanding natural attractions. The rugged, craggy coastline of Westfjords is home to hot pools, ancient Viking sites and isolated villages. Latrabjarg, the westernmost point of Europe, has the largest known bird cliff on earth. The glacial lagoon Jokulsarlon is a favourite among photographers. Other popular areas are the Westmann Islands, the colourful landscape of Landmannalaugar and Lake Myvatn.
