Tourist Guide Blessington
Blessington is a small town in the eastern part of Ireland. This region has been nicknamed the ‘Garden of Ireland’ because of its beautiful landscape of rolling hills and clear lakes. Blessington is so close to Dublin that it is sometimes referred to as the Greater Dublin area.
This region enjoys a moist temperate climate. Summers are the best time to visit as the temperatures are pleasantly warm. Winters can get quite chilly.
This town of approximately 2,100 inhabitants had a unique beginning. In the seventeenth century, the area was purchased by an archbishop from the reigning lords. The rivers passing through the region were flooded to create a lake in the valley. The lake provided opportunity for livelihood, and eventually, farmers and labourers settled down in this area.
