Blessington: Attractions and more...
The Pollaphuca Reservoir or the Blessington Lakes as it is popularly called is spread over a massive area of 5,000 acres. Besides its practical uses, it is also the centre of the town’s leisure activities such as fishing and sailing. The ruins of the Burgage castle can also be found along the lake shoreline.
Russborough, a grand mansion, contains a lavish collection of paintings, furniture, silverware, china and other collector articles. The remains of a castle from the medieval times can also be found just outside the town.
