Tourist Guide Cookstown
Cookstown is a city in Tyrone County, Northern Ireland. It is the fourth largest town in the county with a population of about 11,000 inhabitants. Famous for its One Mile Street, which is the longest and widest street in Northern Island, the region is a major tourist centre of the region.
Characterised by a maritime temperate climate, which is highly unpredictable, the city experiences an overall moderate climate. Summers and winters have fluctuating temperatures with a cloud cover being persistent over the entire region. Snowfall is a regular feature during winters.
The city has been inhabited from as early as the fourth century. The population was engaged mainly in agricultural activities. Farming, agriculture, fishing and tourism are followed.
