The present Cork Museum opened in 1945 and has been administered since 1963 by Cork Corporation. The collections include the social, economic and municipal history of the city and also of the surrounding areas from the Mesolithic period onwards. The focus is on Civic Regalia and the trades and crafts of the 19th and the 20th centuries. Here, one can visit exhibitions, both temporary and permanent ones.
