A retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern day city life, Dublin’s Parks and Gardens provide unparalleled opportunities for enjoyment, exploration and exercise in the heart of the capital!
Phoenix park is one of the largest and most magnificent city parks in Europe, it has 707 hectares and the park is covered with trees, which are mainly broadleaf species such as oak, ash, lime, sycamore and horsechestnut. A more ornamental selection of trees is to be found in the enclosures.
Then a herd of Fallow Deer has lived in the park since the 60's! They were introduced by the Duke of Ormond. There's a a wide range of wildlife habitats to be found here! One of those areas is Furry Glen, a conservation area.
Then you might head to another delightful green spot, Ardgillan Castle, located on the coastline between Balbriggan and Skerries; it's unique among Dublin's Regional Parks also for the amazing view it shows!
