When you visit Galway, you’ll most likely hear the locals repeat “the west is the best,” and after a few hours you’ll probably know why.  This charming city is full of great restaurant and café options and perfect for anyone who loves al fresco dining while watching people go by.

One of the most popular, family-run cafes in the city is Antons.  It’s a simple and small place, with local artists’ paintings decorating the walls and a great atmosphere.  Revive Café is another great day-time rendezvous that offers great sandwiches, wraps, and made-to-order meals.

If you are looking for something a little more upscale, check out The G Hotel.  This modern establishment has great fine dining options from the city’s top executive chef.  Martines Restaurant & Wine Bar is another great place to wine and dine.

But if you are looking for something traditionally Irish, Galway’s McDonaugh’s famous fish restaurant is the place to be, if you can find your way in.  The popular eatery is packed almost every night, and anyone who’s been there already knows why.
