Killarney: Attractions and more...
The Lakes of Killarney (Lough Leane, Muckross Lake and Upper Lake) lie in a valley surrounded by mountains and are of spectacular scenic beauty.
They can best be appreciated on the guided boat trips which depart from various locations along the shores.
On a small peninsula between Muckross Lake and Lough Leane is Muckross House a 19th century mansion, which is open for guided tours of the impressive interior, gardens and surrounding farms.
Ross Castle is a restored 15th century castle, also located on the shores of Lough Leane, and has a splendid collection of 16th and 17th century furniture.
Due to its long history as a tourist destination, Killarney has a vibrant night-life with excellent restaurants, pubs and clubs to cater for all ages and tastes.
