Tourist Guide Wexford
Wexford is the scenic county town of Wexford County, Ireland. With a population of about 10,000 inhabitants, the town is a typical example of the Anglo-Norman settlement. This cosmopolitan town is one of the main shopping centres in South East Ireland and is also one of the cleanest towns in the country.
The climate in Wexford is of the variable variety which is highly influenced by Lake Michigan, especially in winters. Summers are warm and dry while winters come with snowfall. Rainfall is distributed evenly throughout the year.
Historically, Wexford was a Viking town and a successful seaport. After an economically depressed period in the twentieth century, the town recovered and enjoyed a construction boom with other industries being agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and mining.
