When to visit
Abruzzo is in the central part of Italy well known for its skiing, especially cross country skiing. There are also an abundance of beaches to explore here in this region in summer. This region has lots to offer year round, with beautiful snow capped mountains in winters, perfect spot for the adventurous kinds to perform all kinds of ski activities. Anytime is the best time to visit Abruzzo, with spring, summer and fall being the most beautiful time ideal for driving, hiking and warm weather outdoor activities. The winter season is the prime season for cross country skiing. The month of summer, from mid May to September, are sunny days, ideal to hike the mountains. Late April to mid May is also great for a long weekend break. The month of January tends to be the coldest month. Late June and July are perfect for a beach outing. The month of November experiences the heaviest rainfall.
