The cave of Agnanao is located about two kilometers from Ostuni, and is a great cavity opening in the murgiana escarpment and has an imposing limestone fracture.A chapel from the early 600s, built in the external part, divides the cavern into two areas. Inside the cavity there are testimonies from the Paleolithic to the middle ages. There are also two funeral sites, dating back to the Bronze Age, worship structures of the classic age, having traces of a big japigian - messapian sanctuary dedicated to the cult of dametra and the re-conversion In the Christian age, with a large freasco of the sixteenth century representing the Virgin Mary.
