Founded in 1995 the Gargano national park covers a wide area of the Gargano promontory and the marshes and flatland. It has fostered the preservation of species in and has a fascinating collection of wildlife including the roe deer and red and rare species of plants.
The coastal routes are popular with the cyclist and are laced with hiking trails. There is an information center and a museum in the heart of the park.
