Clearly the main reason for a visit to Bormio is the opportunity to watch and take part in winter skiing. There are 50 km of marked ski runs, 16 lifts and several ski schools and Bormio is regularly the venue for World Cup Skiing Events.

However, the town also has a rich history and Romanesque architecture that has been wonderfully preserved in churches,  palaces and museums.

There are numerous restaurants, cafés and bars from which to watch the world go by and absorb the delightful atmosphere of this charming town.

The eating places offer delicious Italian food and wines and many also provide entertainment.
In fact, Bormio is known equally for its off-slope and après-ski activities as for its skiing.
