Mount Vesuvius is known to be more dangerous as per the studies conducted by the National Academy of Sciences. About 3,780 years ago, there was a massive eruption which buried land and villages for over 25 kilometers to the north west of the volcano and more than three million people perished due to this major natural calamity. This is one of the major attraction of Naples as the mount ranks among the most explored and known volcanoes on Earth.
