The Certosa e Museo di San Martino is a former monastery complex, which at present is a museum situated in Naples. This complex is also the most visible landmark of the city and is perched almost atop the Vomero hill which commands the gulf. Moreover, the Carthusian monastery was finished and inaugurated under the rule of Queen Joan I in the year 1368. The museum, at present has a display of Bourbon and Spanish era artifacts and displays of the ‘presepe’, Native scenes, and is known to be the finest in the world.
