The Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Rosary was built between 1876-1891 by Bartolo Longo, a lawyer and Countess Marianna De Fusco, his wife. In 1970 the area of exhibition was restructured and in 200 it was reorganized for its jubilee. The museum contains a devotional collection of Virgin Mary from 1876 till date and there are around 2000 artifacts on display in the exhibition area.
