Tourists have a wide range of options for their stay, choosing from 7 days, in a one centre (Chiavenna) or two centre (Chiavenna and Livigno) stay, as well as the possibility of short breaks of 3-4 days. You can choose from B&B or half-board accommodation, in the specially chosen hotels, or for the more adventurous there are camping facilities nearby. If it's something really unique you're looking for, you can have an overnight stay in a mountain hut enjoying the true spirit of comradeship amongst fellow walkers, awakening to the splendid sun-rise over the mountains.
To name just one of our excursions for trekking, the Septimer route is a particularly scenic itinerary starting in the Bregaglia Valley at the foot of the Maloia Pass and following an ancient path used as far back as Roman times. It was particularly important in the Middle Ages when it was used by merchants, travellers and pilgrims as the most direct connection from Lake Como to the North of the Alps. It is a most interesting excursion maintaining the typical atmosphere of antique routes while offering splendid views from the top of the Lunghin Pass (almost 2700m) to the valleys below.
Livigno offers numerous trekking itineraries as well as the possibility of mountain-bike excursions with bike hire on site. Given it's altitude (1800m) it is a very popular training ground for athletes from all over the world and is the seat of many important annual sport's events, including the "Stralivigno", a cross-country half-marathon run and the "Pedaleda", an enduring mountain-bike race, both with numerous participants. If your holiday coincides with these events and you wish to take part, this can be organised.
