Fontana del Nettuno (the Fountain of Neptune) is a monumental fountain situated in Bologna, Italy. The fountain features a sculpture of Neptune made with bronze that portrays him expanding his reach in a lord like gesture of stilling and also controlling the waters.
It is a work of the famous sculptor Giambologna. The statue was completed about in 1567, two years after the completion of the fountain. A must see for tourists, the fountain is an exemplary model of the Mannerist taste of the mid-16th century.
