Located in the Province of Udine, Lignano Sabbiadoro is a small commune which lies in the North-eastern Italy. A small town spanning over the area of 16.21 square km is mainly a summer resort in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy. The commune nestled between the Tagliamento delta, Adriatic warm waters and Marano Lagoon.
The total population of the place in 2007 was 6676. The town was developed in 20th century and was reachable only by sea at that time is now a home to one of the main hospitality resorts. The early inhabitants arrived the Lignano Sabbiadoro in 1931 and in 1926 first road were built between Latisana and Lignano Sabbiadoro. In 1935, for promotional reasons the name Sabbiadoro which means the Golden Sand was added
