The Aragonese Castle is the most-visited landmark of the island and is accessible through a lift, although adventurous visitors could gain access through a tunnel. Along the tunnel, there is a small, beautiful chapel. The Church of the Immacolata and the Cathedral of Assunta are also a part of the castle.
Nature lovers can revel in the display of tropical and Mediterranean plants, housed in the La Mortella Gardens. The place also provides a stunning view of the city and houses a museum in the garden complex.
The Cartaromana Beach, situated between beautiful cliffs, is a popular destination of the island. It provides some of the best views of the island and is famous for its hot thermal water springs. Tourists can enjoy swimming sessions in the winters.
Visitors can also attend the annual festival of Settembre Sul Sagarato, which features art exhibitions, colourful parades, musical concerts and shows, reflecting the culture of the region.
