A cheap eat is hard to find in the center of Rome but with some suggestions the worst is easily avoidable.

Just off Piazza Venezia, somewhere you’ll certainly go when passing through Rome, are two of the best and cheapest eating places right in front of each other on via del Gesù. Da Remo serves my favorite sandwich in town, simple and delicate it’s made with aubergines, chilly and thing slice of mozzarella.

Just on the other side of the road is a take away pizzeria serving the usual well know flavours but with an extra touch: the crust is fried and once you start eating you can’t stop.

In Trastevere, Carlo Menta offers a pizza at a slow as 3 euros while in San Lorenzo, Da Rosi is known in the neighbourhood for the best take away lasagna.

I ate in some of these places and I can tell you that they are really good. Especially Da Remo, on Via del Gesù! I can confirm that sandwiches are really special!
