The Mausoleum of Hadrian is usually referred as the Castel Sant’Angelo. This is a towering cylindrical building situated in Rome and initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. Later on, this building was used as a fortress and a castle and at present, it is a museum. The Castel Sant’Angelo was decommissioned in 1901, and it at present known as the Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant’Angelo.
