The Circus Maxims was known to be the largest stadium in ancient Rome.  Around 250,000 people used to accommodate this stadium at one point of time. The site was first used for public games and total entertainment by the Etruscan kings of Rome.  This ancient Rome chariot race stadium and also a mass entertainment venue were also the first and the largest Chariot Race stadium in ancient Rome.
