Rome is unique, even when it comes to nightlife and entertainment; there are surely loads of bars and clubs spread all over the city, and, for a glam night, one of the most chic place to be is around Piazza Navona. T here are many chic glamorous wine bars and cafes in this labirynth of cobbled stones alleys like Via della Pace, for instance.
As for an aperitif Trastevere is a smart place to be, so typical roman and so international! There are many pubs, restaurants and bars to discover. As for music clubs heading towards a late trendy night, one of the best areas is Testaccio: the main street of Via Monte Testaccio and the surroundings offer plenty of choices, from latin music clubs, to rock, alternative, posh clubs!
A trendy place well known in the city is the Goa club in Via Libetta (just off the main Ostiense street): it's trendy with a wood and metal interior design. The music's awesome and it houses many famous italian and international DJs. You usually have to be on a list to get in so make sure you call in in advance!
Another pretty cool place also renowned in town is the Akab in Via di Monte Testaccio: it's on 2 floors and the dancefloor is in a cave! It's very pleasant to hang outside in the summer as it has a beautiful Japanese style garden and the music changes, depending on the night. Usually there's black, or house, electronic or easy listening.
To say goodbye to the night, at the break of dawn a ritual in Rome is to head and indulge in a cornetto (croissant) on the way back home and stop in one of the many cornetterie, labs that produce those sweet treats, whose addresses is one of the best kept secrets in town!
