There are so many romantic places in the Eternal City... couples will find atmosphere and romantic lanes to walk hand in hand along, lovely candlelight restaurants (Trattorie) in areas like Trastevere.  You'll find lovely little places to dine, typical roman trattorie wine bars, those cobbled streets hold many surprises...just dont wear heels!! 

Looking up you'll see pretty flowery balconies to imagine a serenade sung....to stay a bit off the more crowded and touristy areas around the famous Campo de' Fiori and Piazza Navona walk along the little streets surrounding theese spots and you'll find many corners, relaxing wine bars where you can sit and enjoy an eye to eye glass of red wine perhaps a Chianti from Tuscany or a Nero D'Avola, strong Sicilian wine...

You can really make the most of your romantic trip to Rome, don't miss a mid-afternoon walk along the Tiber river watching the sun go down which makes the marbles of statues and building turn pink.  Near Castle St. Angelo there's Borgo Pio a not so crowded area and it's cobbled alleyways abound with little cafes and pubs.  It's located just behind the Vatican, St.Peter's Square. 

Finding a typical trattoria is the best option instead of dining around the Termini/Via Nazionale area which is definetely more full of tourist traps!  In the Summer especially, don't miss a romantic "passeggiata",walk,in the Roseto, Rome's public rose garden.  Wander through the roses and the flowers wrapped in perfumes, and enjoy views of the ancient Palatine hill. 

Either Villa Borghese or Villa Ada make a perfect place to rest in the shade of a tree with your loved one, the parks and gardens are beuatifully kept and there are vendors for cold drinks and snacks.
