The Garbatella was once the working class districts in Rome and is of a renaissance period. This is a typical Roman suburb which was built in the Fascist period and is worth visiting for its exceptional architectural work buildings. The name, Garbatella owes its name to a woman who used to run a restaurant in Via delle Sette Chiese. When this district was developed, only few streets were planned for tramway line as private motorization was yet to come.
