Reviews Jewish Ghetto
Jewish Ghetto
For centuries, the Jewish ghetto of Rome has been a site of both undying pride and solidarity and relentless persecution of a tight knit community. This was built in 1555 on the banks of a frequent flooded bend of the Tiber River. This ghetto was the forced house of the Roman Jewish population for more than 300 years between the Italian Unification and the Counter Reformation.
