The Villa of Emperor Hadrian in Tivoli, Italy includes many villas and gardens.

Constructed in the early second century by Emperor Hadrian, the villa used to be a complex of over thirty buildings which consisted of palaces, theatres, temples and quarters for courtiers. Also, the site was the best example of an Alexandrian garden.

Although much of the villa is in the form of ruins today, it has been preserved in an excellent manner. Today, it is among the best examples of the Roman period in Europe and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Various architectural orders like Greek and Egyptian are displayed in the decoration of the villa. Also, the ancient Maritime Theatre in the villa presents a classic Roman style with beautiful domes and arches.

The Canopus pools, Nympkaeum, Library Courtyard and impressive baths are reasons to visit the villa.
