Nightlife and entertainment: Bormio could do with a few more pubs to allow us young people to have fun after a day at the spa. Even a nightclub in the hotel would be good. Also the villages could use clubs and other activities to entertain young people or families with children.

Sport, adventure and wellness: There are great ski slopes all around Bormio, or you can even sunbathe. As well as this, there are lots of little shops and the staff are welcoming everywhere, from shops to hotels, to restaurants, to the spas. The only drawback is that Bormio isn't so easy to get to. I recommend you go by car.

Sport, adventure and wellness: After a beautiful day spent skiing, you can relax in the beautiful bagni vecchi, a spa with a beauty farm and thermal pools of all kinds. The most impressive is the outdoor rooftop pool, from which there is a wonderful view of the surrounding valleys while you bathe in hot water.

The accessibility: There is still quite a lot to be done ......the subject of architectural obstacles is complex. It should be built to be more accessible, there isn't a simple solution to this problem. The bathrooms and the thermal baths are not always usable. You have to think of disabled people who go on holiday alone.

Best Period to Go: It's absolutely beautiful during the winter when you can feel the warmth of this city as well as the exceptional landscape. But I must say it's very beautiful in June and September too, when it's rich in color and there are lots of cultural and sporting events.

The accommodation: The best places to stay in Bormio are definitely the Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi and Bagni Vecchi Hotel. (They are connected by a free shuttle service) and both of them have spas and a wide variety of facilities which you can get to from the rooms in a bathrobe and slippers.

Eating and Drinking: Have a ski on the slopes of Bormio followed by a realaxing soak at the New or Old spas. And to eat, there are restaurants in the centre of Bormio where you can have good tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms or wild game washed down with Sforzato, Sassella or Inferno wine.

Best Period to Go: In my opinion the best time to go on holiday in Bormio is winter, because soaking in the hot water of the outdoor thermal pools and having the snowy mountains around you is a unique experience. Also, in winter you can combine spa and skiing or hiking on the snowy trails, it's worth it too.

Useful tips: Beautiful area to visit, many areas adapted for hiking in summer, the food is great, try the baths, although they are a bit expensive. It's only a short distance from many tourist destinations. The night is cold, even in summer, always bring a raincoat.

Not to miss: BEAUTIFUL SMALL TOWN, A LOT OF SHOPS, A LOT OF PARKS, (MAYBE NOT SO GOOD FOR WALKS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN), ANYWAY IT'S WORTH GOING. I WENT IN AUGUST, WINTER IS PROBABLY THE BEST TIME TO GO...

Packing List: It's a beautiful city but it's so cold and windy! The best thing to do is wear a thermal shirt! The food is good and doesn't cost much. The spa is fabulous and doesn't even cost much when you consider the service you're getting. It's a really nice destination to go to once in your life. The only thing is that the hotels are a bit expensive and they're full during winter for obvious reasons - skiing.

Eating and Drinking: The Valtellina cuisine is very flavourful. Home of pizzocheri, polenta taragna and full-bodied wine made from local vines. It's absolutely fantastic. Cheese and buckwheat cakes to satisfy the most demanding palates. Not to mention the modern twists on classic dishes! I highly recommend it!

Not to miss:  Clearly the main reason for a visit to Bormio is the opportunity to watch and take part in winter skiing. There are 50 km of marked ski runs, 16 lifts and several ski schools and Bormio is regularly the venue for World Cup Skiing Events.
However, the town also has a rich history and Romanesque architecture that has been wonderfully preserved in churches,  palaces and museums.
There are numerous restaurants, cafés and bars from which to watch the world go by and absorb the delightful atmosphere of this charming town.
The eating places offer delicious ... More Italian food and wines and many also provide entertainment.
In fact, Bormio is known equally for its off-slope and après-ski activities as for its skiing.
The resort is widely renowned for its thermal spa treatments and offers many other indoor and outdoor activities, including ice-skating, snowboarding, horseback riding, indoor swimming, tennis, squash and saunas.

General opinion: Bormio is a town situated in Sondrio province, Lombardy region of the Italian Alps. It currently has a population of 4,500.
Bormio lies at the head of the Valtellina valley formed by the Adda River and is linked to other valleys via four passes.
Bormio is best known as a popular, upmarket ski resort but is also noted for its hot spring spa baths.
The town centres around the historic Piazza Cavour and Via Roma and, unlike  traditional Alpine resorts, has more the flavour of a typically medieval Italian village.

Not to miss: Go to Bagni nuovi and Bagni vecchi, take a trip to Livigno. Ski. You can stay at Casa Martinello. They accept pets in Isolaccia, there is a supermarket, there are butchers and very good food at fair prices.
