The Basilica of San Fedele is situated in the city center of Como and is dedicated to the martyr Saint Fidelis. The church is designed with Lombard Romanesque style, an inspiration of the Palatine Chapel in Aachen, having a huge sculptural decoration of Magistri Cumacini. Here, one can get to see the animal figures, griffins and monster designs too. In 1905, the bell tower was altered and the Antonio Giussani restoration altered the façade in 1914.
The neo Romanesque façade was rebuilt in 1914 from scratch and has a rosette center. For a tourist planning to spend his vacation in Como, the Basilica of San Fedele is an interesting sight to explore and is one of the great icons of the city that is hard to miss!
