An impressive site in the city is the Palazzo del Te, also known as Palazzo Te. The palace has on display excellent architecture, which is a fine example of the mannerist style of Giulio Romano. This palace is the landmark of the city and is frequented by several tourists annually.
The Palazzo de Arco is an interesting storehouse of well preserved articles from the eighteenth century. It houses an enthralling collection of paintings, ceramics and furniture from the bygone era and is a haven for history enthusiasts.
The Rice Festival of Mantova held in June features all the specialities of rice grown in the city, as Mantova is the main centre of rice cultivation in Italy. Many types of rice like the risotto rice and other specialities are on display here.
Other interesting sites to visit in the city are the Palazzo Ducale, a large complex of buildings, gardens and courtyards, the Saint Andrea Basilica and the Piazzas.
