Milan is known as the second railway hub of Italy having five major stations of Milan. The Milan Central station is known as the busiest station in Milan. The Milan and Monza Rail Road opened in 1840 and has speed lines and new lines which connect Milan to Rome, Naples and Turin. There is also the Azienda Trasporti Milanesi which operates within the metropolitan area and manages the public transportation network of 3 metropolitan lines and 120 tram along with bus lines.
