One of the best touring destinations in Milan is the Teatro alla Scala. It is the most admired theatre for Italian Opera and people from all over the world come here to view and enjoy the classic opera. The theatre was opened in August 1778. The opera season starts on 7th December every year, which is the feast day of patron saint of Milan. The theatre is strict about its timing. The opera must end before midnight. Also, the ticket owners are not allowed inside, once the performance begins.
