This church compound has a lot to see - from the Basilica of Our Lady of Bonaria, to Shrine of the same name, and the monastery of the Mercedarian Friars, who look after the entire complex as they have since the early 14th century. This is worth visiting anytime - don’t miss the wonderful museum - but especially on Blessed Mother feast days, and other high Roman Catholic holidays, in particular for the ceremonies and pageants leading up to and including Easter weekend. It also has great views of the sea and Cagliari below.
