The Lipari Island, with its rich volcanic character, clear waters and historical monuments, is a Mecca for its tourists. The island is home to a number of attractions and sights, some of the most popular ones being the beautiful black beaches of Lipari and Mount Sant’ Angelo.
The Mount, which is the Lipari’s tallest mountain, offers a spectacular view of the ocean and its surrounding islands. Museo Archeologico Eoliano, which houses remains from the Bronze Age, the Neolithic Age and the Hellic periods, is another popular location.
The island also consists of a number of thermal springs formed as a result of volcanic activity. Some of the other popular locations in Lipari include the Castle of Meligunte, Port of Lipari, Monte Chirica and a Norman-style Cathedral.
