The Theatrical season at the Greek Theater is held from the month of May to July. Since 1913, the Italian National Institute for Ancient Drama has been promoting the classical theater in the city and organized a festival. This festival was however held every two years and since 2002, each year which is dedicated to the ancient theater. From May to July, there are dramas by some of the popular authors like Sophocles and Aeschylus. The drama is staged in the beautiful surrounding of the Greek Theater in the city.
