When to visit
Sicily is a well known region in Italy famous amongst travelers for numerous of its attractions like beaches, a volcano, mountains and centuries of tradition and history. Festivals play a vital role in this city especially the St. Agatha’s Feast Day, the Holy Week and Ferragost other than the Almond Blossom festival. However, anytime is a festive time in this Mediterranean Island. With typical Mediterranean climate having mild winters and dry summers, the months of April to June and September to October are regarded as the favorable months to visit Sicily, when the temperature is mild, with fewer crowds. The summer months are dry and hot, slightly busy, mostly crowded, especially in the tourist areas. In summers, Mount Etna summit tends to be cold and windy, though it’s free of snow from June to September. However, by end of September or early October, or probably by November to April, it might snow. So, it’s favorable to enjoy skiing at Etna even in winter. Many can visit Sicily when it’s time to make wine, in October. The month of September is excellent to visit Sicily as it’s less crowded and one can have a good time with family and friends.
