Stromboli, a small island, is located along the northern coast of Sicily, Italy. Situated in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Stromboli is a part of the Aeolian Islands. With a population of around 700 inhabitants, the island contains one of Italy’s active volcanoes.
The city experiences a mild temperate climate, characterised by hot, dry summers and cold, foggy winters. The best time to visit the city is during the spring and autumn months.
Stromboli has been one of the most active volcanoes on earth. It is believed that the island has witnessed continuous eruptions for more than two thousand years. The most recent violent eruption was in 2007.
Tourism is the main source of economy on the island. Fishing is also widely practiced by the local inhabitants.
