Madonna di Campiglio is a village and a ski resort in northeast Italy. It is a frazione of the commune of Pinzolo. It has around 1000 inhabitants. Madonna di Campiglio is a small town located in the Dolomites of Northern Italy. The charm of the town is that, unlike the neighboring towns of Flogarida and Marilleva, it is frequented almost exclusively by Italians, where partying is perhaps more important than skiing. The village lies in Val Rendena at an altitude of 1,522 m. There is a small plaza in the centre of the town. Madonna di Campiglio includes the Canalone Miramonti, a black piste where world cup races are held. It is 600m long, a vertical drop of 185m and an average gradient of 66%. The village regularly plays host to the Alpine Skiing World cup races.
