Elba, Tuscany: Where is, history and other tourist information to visit this place.

Tourist Guide Elba

Ebla, among the seven islands called the “Seven Sisters” spreads over about 115 sq. Miles from Tuscan coast to Corsica. The largest Island in Tuscan Archipelago, Elba is hardly at a distance of 20 kms. from Piombino, in Italy.

Elba, also known as the Isola d’Elba, experiences typical coastal climate – in winters the climate is mild due to sea wind.  The summers are usually dry with the temperature about 20 Degrees. There is hardly any rainfall on this island.  The vegetation here is influenced by the climate; one gets to see a blend of pinewoods, Mediterranean Scrub, orchids, brooms and rosemary.

Portoferraio is the main port and the capital of the Isola d’Elba. As of January 01, 2007 Elba had a population of 31,059.

This island was a home to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte who stayed here for 10 months in the 19th Century (May 03, 1814 to February 26, 1815).

Elba is an island with scenic landscapes and historical monuments.
