Galileo Galilei Airport is an airport which is situated in Pisa and is known as one of the two main airports in Tuscany along with Peretola Airport in Florence. The Galileo Galilei Airport is named after Galileo Galilei, who was a famous scientist and a native of Pisa. In 2006 and 2007, this airport was known as the fastest growing airport among Italy’s top 15 airports with passengers numbering up to 30 percent in 2006 and 24 percent in 2007.
