Abbazia di San Galgano or the Abbey of San Galgano is situated just a few kilometers away from Siena in Chiusdino municipality. It was built before 1185. This site had a great abbey and the Round Montesiepi, which has now been completely ruined. The Abbey of San Galgano is an impressive structure and depicts the following of the cult of Saint Galgano.
St. Galgano, the owner, died in 1181, and his tomb is the popular object of worship here.
