The Basilica of San Francesco is one of the most popular and sacred places in Italy. The place has a distinct feel to it with the atmosphere being highly peaceful and sacred. The architecture of the place represents the medieval character of the city with beautiful columns and frescos.
Another alluring sight is the Temple of Minerva, which has now been converted into the Church of Santa Maria della Minerva. Nearby, stands the Palazzo del Captiano del Popolo, with a stunning, tall tower and unique architecture.
The Pinacoteca is a noteworthy art gallery which preserves thirteenth century artefacts including paintings, remains of ancient frescos and other relics. Particularly notable is the painting titled ‘Crucifix’ by Espressionista di Santa Chiara.
