One of the greatest churches in Venice is the church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. It is located in the middle of the San Polo district on the Campo dei Frari. The church is known for monuments of sculptors and artists of Renaissance times and Venetian Renaissance art and is devoted to Assumption of Mary. It is topically called I Frari and was built in 1250.
