Dorsoduro is one of the six sestieri of Venice. It has the highest land areas of the city and the original heart of the city was the Giudecca Canal, along which the buildings were constructed from the 6th century. Dorsoduro is also one of the favorite places among the Anglo American visitors in Venice. During the 19th century, the Accademia was set up in this city.
