St. Mark's Square is one of the main squares in Italy and is called "The drawing room of Europe". It is a small area in front of the St. Mark’s Basilica and dates back to 9th century. The present size and was achieved by enlarging the square in 1177. The Piazza San Marco is very popular amongst the tourists and is a central landmark and gathering place in the city of Venice.
