There is the Gold Exposition which famous all around the world and takes place in Vicenza thrice a year. This occurs in the month of January, May and September. In 1994, UNESCO engraved “Vicenza, a city of Palladio” on its list of World Heritage Sites. In 1996, this site got expanded to have the Palladian villas which are outside the core area and thus it got renamed to the City of Palladio and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto.
There are over 23 buildings which were designed by Palladio. To name a few famous ones include the Villa Capra which is also known as the La Rotonda. This is located outside the downtown area. Then there is the Basilica Palladiana, which is located in Vicenza’s Piazza dei Signori.
There are also various churches which are located in the city and are worth visiting like the Cathedral, the Church of Araceli, Churches of the Carmini and many more. One can visit the secular buildings like the Casa Pigafetta.
