Latvia is probably one of the countries that after the disintegration of Russia had the faster growth; econimics say that in 2006 the national growth was 11,9%, one of the highest in the entire Europe.
Also the low rates of inflation and unemplyoment are indicator of the good state of the Latvia economy.
The food industry is probably the real source of the economic development of the country, along with the mechanical industry.
