Even if Latvia isn't one of the most dangerous countries of the Eastern Europe, it's anyway important to take care of few things when visiting Latvia.

Street crimes often occour, especially in Riga, so that visitors could fall in tourist traps, such as pickpocketing, bag snatching and generic little thefts.

What's worst is the behavior of the local police : sometimes the interventation of the police may take also a couple of hours!

Also the language represent another barrier when calling for help : either policemen and local people rarely speak english, so that the communication turns out to be very difficult.
