Freedom Monument is a memorial honoring the soldiers who were killed during the Latvian War of Independence from 1918 to 1920. This monument is known as a significant symbol of the independence and sovereignty of Latvia. It was unveiled in 1935 and is 42 meters high made of copper, travertine and granite. It is also the central point of official ceremonies and public gatherings.
